This layer, based off of the 2010 US Census’ Census Designated Places data, depicts a general representation of area names for Prince George’s County. These boundaries are populated places showing generalized municipal named areas and unincorporated areas, which by definition, have no legal boundaries but have names familiar to the residents that live there. These generalized locations of geographic names are recognized by the US. Geographic Survey’s Board of Geographic Names.This layer should not be considered an accurate depiction of boundaries, both Municipal and unincorporated, as they have been generalized to cover the entire County with geographic names. |
